Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GuitarTechFinder platform operated by Guitar Tech Finder Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our"), with its principal place of business in Wolverhampton, UK.
By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1. What GuitarTechFinder Is
GuitarTechFinder is an online marketplace that connects guitar players ("Players") with independent guitar technicians ("Techs"). We provide the platform, tooling, and payment infrastructure — we are not a party to any agreement or contract formed between a Player and a Tech.
Guitar Tech Finder Ltd is not a guitar repair service and does not employ or subcontract any Techs listed on the platform.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must be based in the United Kingdom.
- By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must not share your account with or transfer it to another person.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Tech Verification
Techs on the platform may display a "Verified" badge. This verification means:
- The Tech has completed identity and banking verification via Stripe, including Know Your Customer (KYC) checks carried out by Stripe.
- We have conducted a basic due diligence check, which may include reviewing the Tech's online presence (website, social media, or other publicly available information) to confirm some evidence of guitar tech activity.
What verification does not mean: Verification is a basic due diligence step and does not constitute a guarantee, endorsement, or assessment of a Tech's skill level, quality of work, professional qualifications, or suitability for any particular job. GuitarTechFinder makes no warranty as to the standard of work a Verified Tech will provide.
Player responsibility: It is ultimately the Player's responsibility to satisfy themselves that a Tech is suitable before committing to a booking. Players are encouraged to review the Tech's profile, listed services, and any reviews left by previous Players before submitting a quote request or paying a deposit.
GuitarTechFinder acts as an introducer only. Any contract for repair or technical work is formed solely between the Player and the Tech. We are not liable for any loss, damage, or dissatisfaction arising from work carried out by a Tech, whether verified or not.
5. Quotes and Jobs
- Players may submit quote requests to Techs via the platform.
- A quote from a Tech is an offer — no contract is formed until the Player accepts the quote and pays the deposit.
- Once a deposit is paid, a job is created and both parties are expected to fulfil their obligations.
- All communication and payments relating to a job must be conducted through the platform.
6. Payments and Platform Fee
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Guitar Tech Finder Ltd charges a platform fee on each transaction, payable by the Player:
- 5% of the quoted job value, with a minimum fee of £2.50 and a maximum fee of £25.
- This fee is added to the Tech's quoted amount — the total shown to the Player at checkout includes the platform fee.
- The fee is clearly displayed before payment is made.
- We reserve the right to amend the platform fee with reasonable notice.
A deposit (10% of the quoted price, minimum £5, maximum £50) is required to confirm a job. The remaining balance is paid on or after completion as agreed between the parties.
7. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellation terms are agreed between the Player and Tech directly.
- Guitar Tech Finder Ltd does not guarantee refunds — any refund disputes are between the Player and Tech.
- We may assist in facilitating communication between parties but are not obligated to do so and bear no financial liability in any dispute.
8. Liability
Guitar Tech Finder Ltd acts solely as a marketplace platform. We are not liable for:
- Any damage to instruments or property arising from work carried out by a Tech.
- The quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any work performed.
- Any loss, injury, or dispute arising between a Player and a Tech.
- Any failure by a Tech to complete a job, or a Player to make payment.
Any contract for guitar repair or technical work is formed solely between the Player and the Tech. They are solely responsible for resolving any issues that arise from that contract.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the platform fee paid on the relevant transaction.
9. Disputes Between Users
If a dispute arises between a Player and a Tech, we encourage both parties to resolve it directly and in good faith. We may, at our sole discretion, offer informal mediation assistance — however:
- We have no obligation to mediate or adjudicate any dispute.
- Any mediation we offer is entirely non-binding.
- We accept no liability for the outcome of any dispute.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to circumvent platform payments by arranging payment directly outside the platform.
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information on your profile or in quotes.
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or other accounts.
Breach of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
11. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and code on the GuitarTechFinder platform is owned by Guitar Tech Finder Ltd or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission. You retain ownership of any content you upload (photos, descriptions etc.) and grant us a licence to display it on the platform for the purpose of operating the service.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have breached these Terms, with or without notice. Outstanding obligations (e.g. active jobs or pending payments) remain enforceable after termination.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
